Hey everyone!
It's been a long time since I last wrote here. Because I had no technology courses, I couldn't post anything. We started our course, so I will be able to share my experiences with this post again.
"a collection of written or spoken material stored on a computer and used to find out how language is used"
What is a Corpus?
Today, I will mention our corpus-based activity homework but before going into the details of it, initially, it's better to talk about what a corpus means. It is "a collection of written or spoken material stored on a computer and used to find out how language is used" according to the definition of Cambridge Dictionary. It is a huge data base that learners can benefit. In our activity, we suggested the students to use "skell sketch engine".
Our Activity
As to our assignment, we were supposed to create an activity in which the corpus is used. We were unsure about the topic but finally, we decided on "will vs be going to" topic. We shaped our material in accordance with inductive learning. By the way, I did this assignment with Eray. He designed the sheet and we found its content together. That was a bit hard but at the end, we were able to complete it after hours. I am sharing the image of our activity here;
Here's the link of the corpus that we used and Eray's blog;
